It's common to see in patients during ageing process an increase
in skin laxity in upper and lower limbs leading to an unpleasant
aspect to some of them. It's also observed in patients who undergone
massive weight loss. In cases with little lipodistrophy liposuction
alone can achieve good results when skin is firm and elastic but
when there's a important excess of skin, it is necessary to resects
it by mean of an arm or thigh lift. Surgery can be done under local
anesthesia plus sedation in small cases or general anesthesia in
more severe ones. In every case a scar is left hidden in the inner
part of the arm or under the underwear in thigh lifts. Usual activities
can be resumed after 14 days and vigorous activities after 30. It's
of vital importance to discuss every aspect of your surgery with
your surgeon.
