Most of the unpleasant faces that we commonly see are not caused
by facial ageing, but due to an abnormal anatomy of facial bones
which makes overlying tissues to look in a not desirable way, according
to common beauty standards. When these alterations are severe or
takes oclusal alteration for instance, the solution lies in doing
bone osteotomies to restore normal proportions. Those are major
surgeries and many patients reject them as their health is not compromised.
In this way an alternative is the use o facial biocompatible implants
which allow modifications of almost any part of human face. By mean
of well hidden incisions we can achieve these changes in a short
time with a low morbidity rate and a high rate of satisfaction from
the patients. The implants are made of porous polyethylene (porex)
which allow bone fixation avoiding migration or extrusion like old
implants.
